Paul's picks:

Zas' picks:

Paul and Zas ALMOST agreed on all four faces AGAIN!

For their BOSTON CELTICS Mount Rushmore, Paul and Zas BOTH picked:

Larry Bird:

Possibly the greatest Celtic ever, Bird scored 21,791 points (24.3 per game), and averaged 10.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.7 steals and notched 59 triple doubles (5th all time) in his 13-year career.  A 3-time NBA and 2-time Finals MVP and gold medal winner in the 1992 Olympics, Bird also led the Celtics to championships in 1981, 84 and 86 and averaged 23.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.8 steals in 164 career playoff games!

Kevin McHale:

The peanut butter to Bird’s jelly, McHale (a 7-time All Star and 2-time winner of the 6th Man of the Year award) averaged 17.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game in his 13-year career.  He, also, helped the Celtics win NBA Titles in 1981, 84 and 86…averaging 18.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 169 career playoff games.

Robert Parish:

In 1,106 games with the Celtics, Parish won 3 NBA Titles and was an All Star 9 times.  He averaged 16.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in his 14 seasons with the club…and is still Boston’s all-time leader in offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds and blocks.

After agreeing on those three, Paul and Zas differed on their 4th face of the Celtics’ mountain.

Paul chose:

Paul Pierce:

Since entering the league in 1998, Pierce has averaged 21.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.  He – along with the other two-thirds of the “Big Three” – brought the Celtics back to prominence in 2008 bringing the NBA Championship back to Boston and winning the Finals MVP in the process.  With 23,543 points, Pierce is also creeping up on John Havlicek as the Celtics all-time leading scorer!

Speaking of John Havlicek, he was Zas’s pick for the Celtic Rushmore’s 4th face.

John Havlicek:

Havlicek is the Celtics’ all-time leading scorer (as mentioned above) and won 2 championships after 1973 while averaging 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.2 steals in that time frame.  He was also an All Star in every season between 1973 and 1978 and the Finals MVP during the 1973-74 season!
